A Robin I spotted on the trail.
Into the wild and nature bound. Ambled its trail and breathed its air. And facing its winds I chased a Wren with my lens, and actually managed to capture this elusive little bird, the photo more to log than to show.
That was shortly followed by a Robin who kindly obliged my request for a pose, thank you.
A very persuasive mixture of bright skies, sun and no wind motivated me to hit the trail today. Unfortunately my trek began on the tail end of this mild, windless temptress.
I was soon faced with the cold winds, that increased their strength as the time elapsed.
After taking my Robin pictures I headed towards the farm. A quick sit down, contemplation, and hydration before u-turning the crop field where I slung back to the other side, and bordered the tall and dense wood on my way to the old sheep dip, I wanted my Nuthatch, so I’d set camp to that effect.
In other words, I sat on my foldy-out stool with my camera at the ready.
Tired and more ready for home than I really wanted to be, I eyed a Wren a few times in the dip, chased for a pic, but this one wasn’t as cooperative as the one previously, not that that one was too accommodating or easy to pick out or photograph among the branches and twigs (photo).
With my camera set up in Dip mode – 10yards, plants and close birds around the dip, it wasn’t set for something 30 yards away dashing across the crop field behind me.
I just didn’t have the time to try and change the settings to capture the deer cantering across the crop field from the wood to the hedgerow and beyond. I changed my focus, my attention now on the wood, expecting maybe more to follow the two who went before.
No Deer, no Nuthatch, no energy, no stay.
I packed up my things and headed for home, knowing that I’d had a good day, taken my fair share of photos and seen a lot.

A Deer (not one of the Deer I saw today) at the wood where the Deer I saw today were heading.

This reflects what we all go through at times when trying to capture nature in our lens! I think it was a wonderful post, and am glad you shared it. Love the robin! The day wasn’t lost! :-)
